The chamber music ensemble of the Berlin Residence Orchestra invites you to a concert experience at the Grunewald Hunting Lodge - located on the idyllic shores of Lake Grunewald - that is entirely dedicated to the magical fascination of the natural element of water.
George Frideric Handel's "Water Music" III G major HWV 350 is one of the most enchanting nature compositions of the Baroque era. Once composed to duly illustrate the royal presence on a river cruise, this richly detailed musical spectacle will transport the audience to the exhilarating mood of a festival on water.
In a completely different sense than Handel's, Georg Philipp Telemann's "Water Music", the Overture TWV 55:C3 with the epithet "Hamburger Ebb' & Fluth" does not play "on" the water, but brings to life the mysterious nature of water in all its diversity - from still waters in which nature is reflected, to restless currents, to roaring ocean waves. If you close your eyes, perhaps playing naiads or other ghostly creatures will appear from the unfathomable depths of the sea....
The audience can dream to the baroque sounds on a journey into the wondrous world of water & enjoy the fairy-tale atmosphere of the lakeside concert!
