Three authors from the publishing house present their latest new releases in short readings: Carmen-Francesca Banciu, Wolf-Christian Schröder and Volker Kaminski.

Catharine Nicely will provide insights into the publisher's 15-year history. The evening will be hosted by Frank Hahn.

The themes of the three books presented are as colorful as autumn leaves.

Banciu's "Mother's Day" is about the liberation of a young Romanian woman from a rigid communist home that did not allow her to develop. She begins a new life in Berlin, but the conflict with her mother continues.

In Schröder's "Tapirgebein", a young lawyer suddenly leaves his family and law firm to join a traveling circus (heading for Eastern Europe) as a juggler. When new happiness and contentment come to an abrupt end, he returns to Berlin, where nasty surprises await him.

Kaminski's end-time novella "The Last Test" takes us on a fantastic journey into a distant future. Following drastic climate change, people live in a world that is largely frozen over. Only a successful test on an adventure journey across the ice to a "green wall" promises a better life.

As different as the stories are, what they have in common is the theme of new beginnings, liberation from torpor and hope for new happiness.
