An accountant poses the simple question: How does one live life to the fullest? But also: Can one escape learned constraints? And if so, at what cost?
In the text installation "When the Accountant Takes Flight," author and artist Ulrike Damm uses her monumental text sculpture to reveal the psychological state of her novel's protagonist.
She rewrote her latest novel, "The Accountant's Poetry," by hand on nearly 25,000 index cards. The result is a sprawling, immersive work of literature.
