Berlin-wide women's iftar under the motto “Strong women, strong society”
On International Women's Day on March 8, 2026, women from various mosques and Muslim associations in Berlin are inviting people to break the fast together at several locations throughout the city.
The Fraueniftar is an annual event held throughout Berlin that was initiated by the Network of Muslim Women in Berlin. Inspired by Open Mosque Day, mosques and Muslim associations are opening their doors exclusively to women on this evening to create spaces for encounter, exchange, and solidarity.
This year's Fraueniftar is themed “Strong Women, Strong Society,” which will be taken up at each location with its own program.
All women are invited, regardless of their origin, religion, or worldview. Participation is only possible with prior registration.
- Admission: from 4:45 p.m.
- Program start: 5:00 p.m.
- Joint breaking of the fast (iftar): 6:03 p.m.
Location: various mosques and women's associations in Berlin
With the Women's Iftar, the organizers want to open up opportunities for encounter and exchange and strengthen women's solidarity.
The idea for the joint women's iftar was developed by the Network of Berlin Muslim Women. The network brings together active women from different mosques and Muslim associations to discuss common concerns. It was created as part of the kiez-einander project of the RAA Berlin and is coordinated by the RAA Berlin.
