The IBB Prize for Photography was awarded for the 19th time in cooperation with the Friends of the Berlin University of the Arts | Karl Hofer Society. This year's winners are Jana Pressler (main prize) and Moritz Haase (recognition prize).
The exhibition brings together two artistic positions that use photography as a means of investigating temporality and physical reality. Both approaches deal with forms of recording and visualising imaging processes.
Jana Pressler works with installation, sculpture and analogue photography. Her works counter the fleeting culture of validation on social media with an examination of structures of perception. Her work focuses on the processual and indexical, as well as the relationship between surface and space.
Moritz Haase works with photography and installation, light phenomena and spaces of memory. His works are based on an examination of reality that is oriented towards physical processes. Images from different times and spaces are rearranged and placed in relation to one another.
