Scene study: Human/Hands-on Mouth, 2nd year of study

What is a white painting on a white background—a masterpiece or a bad joke? Three friends. One painting. And the big question: How much can a friendship withstand?

In "Art," the internationally acclaimed play by French dramatist Yasmina Reza, long-standing friendships are shaken by a modern painting. Serge buys an expensive, completely white painting—an affront to Marc, a dilemma for Yvan.

What begins as a harmless disagreement exposes unspoken tensions, wounded pride, and fragile loyalties. In rapid-fire dialogue, puppetry meets fine art. A picture is worth a thousand words—but what if no one sees the same thing?
