How is a sculpture actually created? In this workshop, you’ll explore the Altes Museum as part of a group, guided by the visual artist Fritjof Mangerich. Here you’ll find ancient figures made from various materials: stone, bronze, clay and plaster.

Through drawing, movement and photography, you’ll engage with these ancient depictions of the human form.
Which sculpture do you particularly like? Which pose will you take home with you? In the workshop, you’ll learn about casting techniques and gain a basic understanding of how, for example, bronze casting works. Using modelling clay, you’ll create your own 3D sculpture.
Three-day workshop:
- 20–22 October 2026 / Tue–Thu / 10.00–14.00
- Participation fee for all three days: 42 euros
- Limited number of places. Online booking required.
