Families explore Berlin’s past in a variety of ways. As they race through the centuries, they discover extraordinary objects and amazing stories together. Along the way, they can try out many things and experience them with all their senses.
What did medieval fabric feel like? What did Berlin smell like around 1740? What new inventions made everyday life in the big city easier? And how did children live around 1900? Along the way, they’ll meet a plague doctor, the oldest remains of a Berlin domestic pig, and other witnesses to the city’s history.
Note: You only pay the museum admission fee. The guided tour is included in the admission price. Admission is free for everyone under 18 or eligible for a discount.

Sunday in the Nikolaiviertel
On the first Sunday of every month, the three museums in the Nikolaiviertel offer a special, wide-ranging program for everyone. Families are especially welcome—admission is free for everyone under 18 or eligible for a discount. So look forward to great activities at the Ephraim-Palais Museum, the Nikolaikirche Museum, and the Knoblauchhaus Museum!
The solidarity-based pricing model offers free admission to adult visitors with proof of eligibility for a discount, including students, apprentices, those completing FSJ, FÖJ, and BFD service, people with severe disabilities, refugees, recipients of basic income support or ALG I, and many others. Everyone else pays only the museum admission fee and can take advantage of the discounted combo ticket for all three museums. The extensive special event program is included in the price!
