What connects the fear of loss with art? How can personal experiences of farewell and change be related to a collection—and what political dimensions does this touch upon?

With "Zerreißprobe" (Breaking Point), Achtet Alis invites participants to explore their individual experiences of loss and engage them in dialogue with works from the collection.

A newly developed audio walk offers intimate insights into personal stories of loss and leads to selected reference works. In the open drop-in format of the educational space, participants have the opportunity to exchange ideas and reflect together on their own fears of loss.

Participants are also expressly welcome to share their own stories: They are invited to connect with their experiences through art—whether through a work that touches them or one that deliberately challenges them. Texts can be left openly or anonymously and will be incorporated into a growing archive. In this way, a collective picture of loss, hope, and the diverse forms of letting go gradually emerges.

The project and the workshop are funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.
