Forced labor and exploitation yesterday and today

Under National Socialism, millions of people were forced to work under inhumane conditions. Forms of modern forced labor and labor exploitation still exist in Germany today - seemingly unnoticed, but right in our midst.

A documentary film (20 min) will be shown at the beginning. A panel discussion will shed light on historical and current structures of forced labor, highlight differences and connections and ask: How do I recognize forced labor today - and what can we do about it? Discuss with experts from education, counseling and human rights work!

Panel:

  • Daniela Geppert, Documentation Center for Nazi Forced Labor
  • Kim Weidenberg, Service Center against Labor Exploitation, Forced Labor and Human Trafficking
  • Anna Schmitt, Counseling on Labor Law & Forced Labor (BEMA)
  • Moderation: Tobias Seitz, Institute for Human Rights
