Berlin is changing - and with it the images we have of the city. Lutz Pehnert and Florian Opitz have accompanied the change on film: Pehnert in several films in the series "Berlin - Schicksalsjahre einer Stadt", Opitz with the documentary series "Capital B. Who owns Berlin?".
In conversation with the two filmmakers, we talk about personal experiences and cinematic styles, documentary forms and political questions. How do you tell the story of a city? Where does the objective view end and where does attitude begin?
With this discussion evening, they are building a thematic bridge to our new exhibition Heute noch, morgen schon. Cinematic perspectives on Berlin around 1990 at the Museum Nikolaikirche.
