Charlottenburger Kammerchor, CrelleChor, GofenbergChor

Premiere at Apostel-Paulus-Kirche: For the first time, three choirs that share rehearsal space in the parish will perform together in concert: the Charlottenburg Chamber Choir, the Crelle Choir and the Gofenberg Choir, each with their own distinct musical style.

The Charlottenburger Kammerchor is an ambitious amateur ensemble that has been singing with growing passion for more than 25 years. Over the years, the choir has developed an extensive repertoire of sacred and secular songs from the classical and modern periods and has presented them in concerts. Since May 2024, Wanying Lin has been the choir's director, who also works as a church musician in the Apostle Paul Parish. The choir rehearses every Tuesday.

The CrelleChor from Schöneberg also rehearses every Tuesday in the church hall. Its repertoire ranges from Renaissance pieces to musical songs to titles such as ‘Tauben vergiften im Park’ (Pigeons Poisoned in the Park). The choir has 13 singers and is conducted by Gabriele Prahm.

The Gofenberg Choir, founded 22 years ago by the late Josif Gofenberg, has been singing songs in Yiddish from the very beginning – both serious and ‘freylekhe’ (light-hearted). Over the years, Hebrew songs have been added to the repertoire. The choir, which rehearses every Wednesday, is now conducted by Konstantin Nazarov. The main concern of the approximately 30 singers remains unchanged: to preserve the cultural heritage of Eastern European Jews. Among the many performances in and outside Berlin are annual concerts on 9 November, the anniversary of the pogrom night, and on 27 January, Holocaust Remembrance Day.

What all choirs have in common is that they are looking for new singers (especially male singers).
