The voice!

Tango and opera? Yes, it goes together! Who knew that Astor Piazzolla wrote an opera?

This year, it’s the 100th aniversary of Astor Piazzolla. I guess everyone would have known if the corona pandemic hadn't brought culture to a standstill. If we are not granted this pleasure, why not listen to opera arias and Argentine folklore in one evening? The roots of this opera "Maria de Buenos Aires" by Astor Piazzolla.

On this evening we will be able to listen to very different voices. A sonorous mezzo-soprano and a dark Argentine gentleman's voice will fill the warm air at the Freilichtbühne Weißensee.

Before we embark on a sonorous journey through Argentine landscapes and moods with Gustavo Ariel Colmenarejo and Damian DAlessandro on vocals, guitar and bandoneon, Lauriane Tregan-Marcuz will caress our ears with opera arias by G. Verdi and J. Offenbach with Martine Marcuz at the piano. We are looking forward to your visit!
