On Saturday, June 20, 2026, the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin (DSO) invites you to the 12th Berlin Symphonic Mob—transforming the covered forum of the Center at Potsdamer Platz into a shared stage for all who love music.

The Symphonic Mob is Germany’s largest spontaneous orchestra—founded in 2014 by the DSO itself, premiering on Open House Day at the Federal Foreign Office. Since then, it has performed in Berlin’s streets, squares, and halls, with up to 1,300 participants from across the country, and has long since become an institution in its own right.

The idea is as inviting as the concept itself: Anyone who wants to play along—whether on violin, flute, saxophone, or any other acoustic instrument—or even sing along, can download the sheet music in advance and practice at home. All skill levels are expressly welcome. The sheet music is available in both an original version and a simplified version so that truly everyone can participate—from beginners to experienced musicians. Play-along files provide additional help with preparation.

On the day of the event, everyone will play together with the members of the DSO, the Rundfunkchor Berlin, and the designated chief conductor Kazuki Yamada. As a memento of this special day, all participants on site will receive an exclusive Symphonic Mob T-shirt.

The Program

The program spans various eras and styles: the repertoire includes Johannes Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 4, the “Dies irae” from Mozart’s Requiem, Mélanie Bonis’ Bourrée, “The Great Work Is Complete” from Haydn’s The Creation, and the rousing Farandole from Bizet’s “Arlésienne” Suite No. 2—five works that offer something for every taste and every skill level.
