Berlins Kultur im Wandel: Ein Jahr nach dem Totalcrash

The Berlin Future Foundation invites you to the cultural policy salon "Berlin's Culture in Transition: One Year After the Total Crash" on November 18 at Radialsystem.

Since Joe Chialo took office, the budget cuts announced in November 2024, and the impending change at the top of the cultural administration following Chialo's abrupt resignation in May 2025, Berlin's cultural policy has been undergoing profound upheaval. Funding structures, priorities, and self-perceptions are shifting—and with them, the image that Berlin projects culturally, both to itself and to the world.

In the Cultural Policy Salon, cultural experts will discuss the changes of recent months and how Berlin is perceived culturally today with international cultural correspondents, including Christophe Bourdoiseau, correspondent for Libération, L’Express, and Le Soir; Jeffrey Arlo Brown, VAN Magazine and freelance journalist for publications including The New York Times; Masao Fukumoto, author and freelance journalist for Japanese media; and Pascal Thibaut, correspondent for Radio France Internationale. The event will be moderated by cultural journalist Elena Philipp, and Rüdiger Schaper, cultural policy correspondent for Der Tagesspiegel, will offer a concluding summary.

Culture enthusiasts are cordially invited.
