The festival, which is organized in collaboration between the showmen's association and the district mayor's office, cleverly combines a classic folk festival atmosphere with a varied stage program. It offers a wide range of rides, delicious carnival snacks and diverse live shows.
This year there are again numerous rides that offer exciting, spinning, splashing and enjoyable fun, including archery, arrow throwing, duck fishing, Hoppegarten, Gaudi's slide, children's carousels, chain flyers, bumper cars, pirate island and many more.
The opening of the 18-day folk festival takes place with the traditional tapping of draft beer, carried out by the district mayor and the chairman of the Berlin Showmen's Association, Michael Roden. The supporting program promises diversity again this year.
During the Steglitz Week, guests are not only invited to take part in dancing and singing, but also to join in the excitement of the cabaret prize, which has already become a tradition. Small artists compete to become Steglitz's new super talent.
The jury and the audience decide together who sings, dances or performs magic best. The winner among the final three finalists will be determined by the loudest applause from the audience. The winners can look forward to non-cash prizes and a total amount of 1,000 euros.
