The GSE - Gesellschaft für Stadtentwicklung g GmbH operates this facility on behalf of the district. With its rich offer - from the indoor swimming pool with sauna to the own sports hall, the theater hall and smaller stages and club rooms to the library "Mark Twain" and the youth recreation facility FAIR - it offers fun and entertainment, culture, education, sport and recreation for young and old.
Located directly on the newly designed Victor-Klemperer-Platz, the Freizeitforum is one of the outstanding architectures of the late GDR. It was planned from 1983 to 1988 by Prof. Dr. Wolf R. Eisentraut in the Baukombinat Ingenieurhochbau Berlin and built from 1988 to 1992.
