In his photo project, photographer Sebastian Wells from Ostkreuz visually explores why young people support nationalism, especially in Flanders.

Through portraits of uniformed members of a nationalist student association and the examination of illustrated books from the Nazi era as well as the collective memory of passers-by, he analyzes the construct of the identity of right-wing extremists and their ideas of community.

The artist sees his role as that of an archaeologist who uses his images to create a visual environment in which the past inevitably overlaps with the present.
