An event organised by the Reinickendorf Museum at the Frohnau District Library!

A portrait of businessman Erwin Koerfgen: Erwin Koerfgen, born in 1892 in the working-class district of Wedding, lived in Hermsdorf from 1923 until his death in 1947. As an authorised signatory for the renowned company Loeser & Wolff Cigar Factories, he realised his vision of living in his own garden in what was then a suburb of the Reich capital.

A biographical report presents Koerfgen's remarkable personality and recounts the sometimes dramatic fate of his family.

Dr. Phil. Rainer Drews was born in Berlin-Hermsdorf in 1952. He studied social pedagogy, psychology and sociology at the Free University of Berlin and graduated with a degree in education in 1979. In 1990, he received his doctorate in educational sciences from the Free University of Berlin. He then took on teaching assignments in social pedagogy at various universities in Berlin and Potsdam.
