For the March issue of Spätschicht, Rirkrit Tiravanija's waiting room, untitled 2025, will be transformed into a temporary sanctuary by the Queer Analog Darkroom collective.
The members are inspired by the exhibition Peter Hujar / Liz Deschenes: Persistence of Vision, which was on display at the time, and are exploring a radical practice of deceleration within contemporary capitalism.
Bathered in red light, the space evokes a darkroom—a place of transformation where queerness and urban space can be reflected upon: Who has a place in the city? How does gentrification displace queer life? Who has remained silent? Which spaces must we fight for, and which have already disappeared? How can we use our spaces to imagine futures that lie beyond those offered to us?
A collaborative presentation brings together images and memories of queer places and events—those that still exist, those that are endangered, or those that have already vanished. This creates a shared archive of spatial belonging, resistance, and solidarity. Visitors are invited to pause, observe, and collectively remember these spaces.
