Berlin literature in the Romanisches Café (in German)
Patricia Hempel's latest novel, "Abandoned Nests," tells the story of the post-reunification period in an East German village from the perspective of a girl on the threshold between childhood and adolescence.
The author studied literary writing in Hildesheim and published her first novel, "Metrofolklore," in 2017. As a networker within the Queer Media Society (QMS), she advocates for queer visibility and diversity in the literary world and the book trade. Patricia Hempel will read as part of the event series "Berlin Literature at the Romanisches Café – 100 Years Later." Bernadette Conrad and Michael Bienert will speak with the author about life and writing in Berlin.
