In March 2025, staff members of the Pankow Museum visited Rivne, the twin city in western Ukraine. During their stay, numerous meetings and tours took place.
The result is a collection of twelve personal portraits of residents of the twin city who, despite the daily threat, shape their lives and contribute to the community. These include teachers, nurses, and members of civil society, as well as businesspeople, historians, museum and theater directors, and representatives of the Jewish community.
The exhibition centers around large-format photographic portraits by photographer Anna Mischuk and film portraits of the interviewees, who recount their daily lives during the war. Additional media stations and a chronology of Rivne's history provide information about the German occupation from 1941 to 1944 and the ongoing city partnership between Berlin-Pankow and Rivne.
With this exhibition, the Pankow Museum aims to raise awareness of the history of its twin city and to highlight the current situation of its residents since the Soviet invasion.
The exhibition is designed as a traveling exhibition. Displays and media stations can also be presented at other locations. Contact: museum@ba-pankow.berlin.de
