Filmreihe #2030
Because their beloved dog Todd barks too much, Molly and John Chester lose their flat. The couple then leaves the big city and plunges headlong into the realisation of a long-cherished, big dream: starting their own farm. On over 80 hectares in the Californian hills, the couple wants to bring more harmony into their lives - and into the land that feeds them.
What follows are eight years of work that demand everything from the idealists, but also produce 10,000 fruit trees and every imaginable domestic and wild animal on a once depleted, arid land. Among them, an amazing pig named Emma and her best friend, the rooster "Greasy". Amidst fragile water pipes, greedy snails, coyotes determined to do anything, and a new ancient ecosystem, the Chesters realise that in the great interconnectedness of life, all can contribute - trusting in the wisdom of nature and life itself.
With six impressive documentaries on biodiversity, species conservation, sustainable agriculture and mobility, we cordially invite you to the open-air summer cinema on Stone Square.
