by Kae Tempest translated from English by Johanna Davids
Let Them Eat Chaos is a long poem and the second studio album by British poet and spoken-word artist Kae Tempest. In a powerful, multi-layered composition, Tempest weaves poetry, social reflection, and musical expression into a haunting plea.
With unsparing openness and deep compassion, Tempest speaks of alienation, social inequality, and the inner exhaustion of a late-modern society—while simultaneously creating a space for hope: for encounter, change, and a new sense of togetherness.
Director Sebastian Nübling brings the work to the stage as a performative exploration. In the chamber, seven characters—perhaps their own mirror images—meet for the first time. The result is a poetically condensed evening of theater about the chaos of the present—and about what might connect us amidst this chaos.
