"After two sold-out performances in March 2025, they're back! It all started with a realization: They hated pink!
They grew up hating and rejecting pink, despite coming from vastly different cultural and geographical backgrounds. A color they were actually "supposed" to love.
Because pink was a symbol of all things feminine: delicate, graceful, beautiful. But isn't rejecting femininity also an admission of patriarchy? To whom can femininity belong? How can people break free from societal expectations and discover their true desires?
They are fighting to liberate the color pink from the clutches of decades of appropriation as a symbol for questionable definitions of femininity.
Under the rebellious cry of "We hate pink!", they combine dance, theater, and lecture-performance formats into a playful and ironic critique of how femininity is perceived and cultivated." It is an invitation to question the way we move and arrange bodies and faces, to consider appearances and disappearances, and to reflect on when people occupy space or conceal themselves.
How can people reclaim pink, reclaim femininity, redefine femininity for themselves?
The “neworks” series continues its theme of CONTINUING WORK in 2026, aiming not only to offer artists the opportunity to continue ongoing research processes and develop them into full-length performances, but also to revive successful productions and present them again at the ada Studio.
