The New Year's Eve concert of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Berlin Radio Choir, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski, will offer an impressive performance of Beethoven's powerful 9th Symphony ("Ode to Joy").



Under Jurowski's direction, a festive end to the year resounds at the Gendarmenmarkt, full of drama, choral power, and musical depth.


Works performed:

  • Sergei Nevsky - "Goddess of History" for mezzo-soprano and orchestra (text: Tomas Venclova; commissioned by the RSB, DEA)
  • Ludwig van Beethoven - Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 with final chorus on Schiller's Ode "Ode to Joy"
