Geometric constructions create deep spaces and wide insights on the surface. Illusionistic architecture and eye-deceiving paintings attract with a peculiar pull, they leave you amazed.


Together with and based on a selection of outstanding works by artists such as Giovanni Battista Piranesi, Andrea Pozzo and Friedrich Gilly from the Architecture Collection, the aim is to discuss the extent to which the invention and perfection of central perspective shapes ideas of space, time and history.

The number of participants is limited. Registration is not required.

Bags, jackets and bottles are not permitted in the study hall. Please use the cloakroom or lockers on the ground floor.

CLOSE! is the art library's series of events in which the curatorial team presents selected objects from the collection on a small scale. Every 1st Wednesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
