Works for Clarinet and Piano by Berg, Brahms, Hillborg, and Others

For three decades, Martin Fröst has been acclaimed as one of the world’s leading clarinetists. He first made a name for himself with his first-prize win at the Tampere Biennale in 1991, where he premiered Anders Hillborg’s Tampere Raw — together with his piano partner Roland Pöntinen, with whom he has collaborated ever since.

For their joint Pierre Boulez Saal debut, the two artists revisit Hillborg’s work, presenting it alongside clarinet sonatas by Brahms and Poulenc as well as compositions by Berg and Debussy.
