A Berlin house history since 1875
An exhibition on the 150-year history of the residential building at Kollwitzstraße 52, which was the first East Berlin residential building to be bought at a spectacular auction by two Hamburg artists in December 1990.
The residential building on the edge of Kollwitzplatz has undergone many upheavals in its 150-year history. It was built in the 1870s by the Deutsch-Holländischer Actien-Bauverein in what was then Weißenburger Straße.
The exhibition uses original objects to tell the story of this building and presents evidence of the development of the residential area and its residents.
The exhibition was created in cooperation with the K52 art foundation.
