Marianne Rosenberg reads from her autobiography

Marianne Rosenberg is famous as a pop singer and songwriter. But she has also been involved in the Neue Deutsche Welle (New German Wave) and jazz.

She was born and raised in West Berlin. Even as a six-year-old, she wanted to become a singer. It seemed like a game.

As a teenager, she entered the world of show business, and at some point, she had no choice but to sing.

Music helped her escape poverty. Her father, Otto Rosenberg, who managed her in her early years, was a Holocaust survivor.

The presenter Astrid Landero was director of the Paula Panke e.V. Women's Centre from 2008 to 2020. In 2021, she received the Berlin Women's Prize, and in 2023, the Pankow District Medal for her commitment to equality, democracy and human rights.
