Some things truly cannot be foreseen, and some things come together with others at the right time. After the premiere of the book “Großes Kind – 66 Poems after Aleksandr Ratner” in September 2025 and the concert reading “Ich glaube an das Gute unterdessen …”, together with their Ukrainian poet friend Aleksandr from Dnipro in January 2026, Kerstin and Frank now present the songs from their new CD “Wunschtraum”. Aleksandr’s verses—smuggled from Russian into German by Frank with Kerstin’s help and set to music—now fill a silver disc.
The CD was produced by Thomas Vallentin and mastered by Peter Talmann. One of the songs, recalling Yevtushenko’s poem, asks: “Do you think the Russians want war?” and another says: “I live as long as I love you, born in your breath, catch for me.” Anti-war songs and love songs resound and say, in the same breath: Мир Україні!
