Original Latin American beats like cumbia, salsa, porro, guajira, and other Caribbean rhythms blended with elements of jazz, funk, and folk? Bringing together influences from Colombia, Cuba, the U.S., Japan, and Germany? Anyone familiar with Juanita Laló & Friends knows that this combination works.

At the very latest when the band gets the crowd moving and dancing with their own original compositions and a few covers of well-known Latin hits.

The band has won over audiences on stages large and small—in jazz clubs and on dance floors far beyond Berlin—with music arranged by Juanita Olaya, Peter Schwarzt, and Julian Gretschel.

The band has been playing since 2015 and has grown to seven members today, featuring the following professional musicians:

Juanita Olaya on vocals, Daigo Nakai on bass, Oliver Lepinat on piano, Shinichi Nakajima on drums, Marcel Donoso on congas and percussion, Peter Schwarzt on trumpet, and Nils Marquardt on trombone.
