Set against the backdrop of the Marcos dictatorship in the Philippines during the 1970s and 1980s—a pivotal era of the “People’s Power” movement—the film interweaves archival footage with personal narratives. In doing so, it explores what it means for today’s activists to remain steadfast and prevent history from repeating itself.
Following the screening, filmmaker Innah Gaspar will speak with us about the culture of remembrance, intergenerational activism, and the role of storytelling in preserving the history of resistance.
Innah Gaspar is a Filipino filmmaker and storyteller whose work explores the intersections of personal memory, political history, and collective struggle.
