Ignaz Netzer's solo program is living proof of what musicologists have long suspected: The Blues comes from the Swabian country!
So recently the "Heilbronner Stimme" judged that it was only a matter of time until Mississippi paddle steamers would be sighted on the Neckar because of him. And the "Saaner Anzeiger" from Switzerland wrote: "The whitest black man in all of Germany." With his decades of stage experience, Ignaz Netzer conveys insights into the fascinating world of African-American music in a very audience-oriented and tongue-in-cheek humorous way.
His solo program can be described as a crossover project: Blues, folk, ragtime and gospel take up as much space as his sensitive, idiosyncratic original compositions. The professional magazine JAZZ Podium called the singer, guitarist, harp player, songwriter and entertainer a "grand master of classic blues" and the Süddeutsche even called him a "blues magician".
