Thomas Siener introduces Liselotte von der Pfalz in a musical reading accompanied by his harp.

Liselotte von der Pfalz, daughter of the Elector Palatine, was married against her will to the brother of the Sun King, whom she had never met before. She becomes a witness to life at the famous court of Versailles.

Only her humour, her manic letter writing – she wrote more than 20,000 letters – and culinary delights helped Liselotte survive in Versailles.

In his entertaining programme, Thomas Siener combines Liselotte's sometimes hilarious letters with the wonderful music of the court of Versailles, from J.B. Lully to Fr. Couperin, which he has specially arranged for the harp.

Thomas Siener, a trained musician in piano, violoncello and harp, has also long been involved in other arts in various ways. Through acting and language lessons and philosophical studies, he puts into practice his self-created motto: ‘Connecting the arts means finding insights’!
