In 2018, Han Mae and Jim Shaw wrote their first song "Take Your Jacket" and used it to form the emo pop punk band Hot Milk. What started as a spontaneous idea over a bottle of wine on a rainy day quickly grew into a habit and a way of coping with everyday life.

The duo decided to fill a musical void and before long, one song turned into fifteen after running home from work on their lunch breaks and staying up all night. Meanwhile, the band was completed with friends Tom Paton on bass and Harry Deller on drums, and Hot Milk became an insider tip in the punk scene in their hometown of Manchester. Her self-released debut EP Are You Feeling Alive? earned them recognition across the UK.

The EP was twelve minutes long and expressed a desire not to settle for second best in life. As Han Mae once put it, "You don't get a second chance. You get a face nailed to your head, then it all rushes away and you'll never exist again."

Hot Milk's punky ethos focuses on not just letting life slip away. Two more acclaimed EPs followed and finally the long-awaited first album "A Call To The Void" is about to be released, celebrating nihilism and boldly dancing in the face of death - this is made clear by the titles of the first three singles "Horror Show", "Bloodstream" and "Party On My Deathbed".

Hot Milk sound loud and determined like never before. Cool melodies meet punk riffs and electronic outbursts. Angry both politically and existentially, the UK band want the world to feel that anger. At the same time, they offer their fans open arms and a community. In their shows you can clearly feel this feeling of togetherness. With honest lyrics and an inclusive approach, the band strives to create an aggressive, safe space where everyone can be who they choose. The only thing their fans should have is some tolerance for volume when Hot Milk hits the road in November.
