“Family is so important” is the ostensible conviction of Ike, who wants to learn to dance away from his brother Cliff's dance school as a means to an end. However, this “family” becomes smaller and smaller at his hands by means of complicated rituals.

As they challenge each other, different players emerge to find their place, become a plaything or dance partner and then say goodbye or disappear. Even a fall into an icy lake or a deer can't stop Ike on his way. Marko is always the center of attention.

When the dance school suddenly goes up in flames, Cliff suspects his brother. Ike, who can't dance, stays in step with his surprising plan and leaves the once beloved place of the unsuccessful dance teacher in the infamous Chevrolet with Cliff. He is drawn to the south and to Klara.
