We start with a short tour of the exhibition “Paradise” by Christian Thoelke. The contemporary artist and curator juxtaposes city views from the Kunstsammlung der Berliner Volksbank with his own paintings of abandoned GDR architecture. The pictorial worlds reflect the conflicts and potentials of social upheaval then and now.
Three of the artworks will be described in detail during the tour. Afterwards, the workshop takes place right next door in our workshop for creatives, led by our museum educators. Participants can model their own small work of art from an easily moldable material or draw with ink.
The event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. on October 9. It is free of charge and is aimed exclusively at blind and visually impaired people. Assistants are welcome. The meeting point is at 4:30 pm at the Sophie-Charlotte-Platz subway station (U2, exit towards Lietzenseepark), where participants will be picked up.
