Music by Adolphe Adam
The ballet premiere of "Giselle" will be an unforgettable experience - a magical evening full of first love, bitter betrayal and a ghostly, supernatural world. In a perfect symbiosis of dance and the power of a live orchestra, the fate of the peasant girl Giselle unfolds, who unknowingly falls in love with Duke Albrecht, is betrayed in his love, succumbs to madness and suffers a tragic death. Broken by grief and pain, visions of his deceased lover take Albrecht to the Wilis, who, like Giselle, died as brides before their wedding.
The imaginative and catchy music by Adolphe Adam, which premiered in 1841, is much more than just an accompaniment. It becomes the pulsating heart of the story, captivating the audience with every melody and allowing them to immerse themselves deeply in the emotional world of the story.
“Giselle” is a ballet evening that seduces all the senses – an overwhelming emotional experience that remains one of the masterpieces of the Romantic ballet repertoire to this day.
