n ensemble of the DSO invites you together with the mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner to the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin University of the Arts (Udk).

Messner's lecture 'ÜberLeben' will be followed by works by Leone Sinigaglia, Alexandre Tansman and Saverio Mercadante. Excerpts from Strauss' 'Alpine Symphony', arranged for alphorn and trombones, will also be heard. Also in an arrangement for wind instruments, Franz Schubert's 'Wanderers Nachtlied' will be heard. The string sextet from the opera 'Capriccio' by Richard Strauss will bring the evening to a close.
