Meliné Pehlivanian (SBB), Lecture
Georg Schweinfurth had a close relationship with the Royal, later Prussian State Library. Even during his lifetime, he left large portions of his extensive correspondence to it.
After his death, his entire scholarly estate was destined for the library. During World War II, the Prussian State Library evacuated the most valuable parts of its collections starting in 1941. Schweinfurth's estate was among these and ended up in Fürstenstein Castle in Lower Silesia. But his odyssey did not end there.
