Father John Misty is back and seems to have found his ideas for the new album in the Great American Songbook. The songs already released are sonically individual, no two songs are alike. On his new album "Chloë and The Next 20th Century" he shows linguistic qualities as a songwriter, a sense of timing as a drummer, a talent for harmonies as a guitarist, a feeling for the big sound as an arranger. His wide-ranging melodic arcs clothe the explosive content of his songs in enchanting beauty.

"Funny Girl" is a sustained piano ballad in the sweeping style of the '50s that evolves into a big band sound as it progresses with horns and strings. "Q4" is a faster song with harpsichord and four-to-the-floor drums. "Goodbye Mr. Blue" is a sad song about a dead cat and a past love in the style of Willie Nelson or Harry Nilsson

In March 2023, Father John Misty will play an exclusive show at Berlin's Columbiahalle.
