The No. 1 bestseller from Finland and winner of the Finlandia Prize!
E.T.A. Hoffmann was a central figure of the Romantic era: poet, lawyer, composer, conductor, reviewer, pianist, draftsman, and decorator. He explored the connection between music and literature, influencing both fields to this day. His works blend the fantastic with the everyday and revolve around longing, identity, and the unconscious.
The music enhances the atmosphere and psychological depth of his stories; Mozart and Beethoven inspired him. To mark his 250th birthday, his favorite composers and other pieces in Hoffmann's aesthetic style will be performed. Let his texts and music transport you to his imaginative world.
A musical journey through "the land of eternal longing" with texts by and about E.T.A. Hoffmann, as well as works by Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Rosenblatt, and Tchaikovsky.
