WILMA Shopping invites you to a moving reading with Marcel Friederich

On Monday, 15 December 2025, WILMA Shoppen invites you to a special book reading with author and journalist Marcel Friederich.

Starting at 5 p.m., he will present his latest work, ‘Mutmacher’ (Encourager), on the first floor of the centre. In addition to the reading, the event will also offer visitors the opportunity to chat with the author in person, as well as get autographs and take photos.

In the hectic run-up to Christmas, we often lose sight of what is really important. Yet it is precisely the personal stories of resilience and hope that are particularly moving at this time of year. When people find the courage to see their supposed weaknesses as strengths, an inspiring energy is created that connects people and can permanently change their outlook on life.

These are precisely the kinds of stories that will take centre stage when author and journalist Marcel Friederich visits WILMA Shoppen on Monday, 15 December. From 5 p.m., he will be reading from his book ‘Mutmacher-Menschen’ (People Who Inspire Courage) on the first floor (diagonally opposite the Thalia branch). In it, Friederich introduces inspiring personalities who live with very different hurdles – be it a physical disability, a chronic illness or a difficult fate. The spectrum of those portrayed ranges from former national football player Thomas Hitzlsperger to 17-year-old Lilly, who is in a wheelchair, to 91-year-old Instagram influencer Rosi. What they all have in common is that they accept their challenges with a positive attitude.
