Works by J.S. Bach, C. Debussy, C. Franck, and others.
An evening full of musical contrasts and sonic depth awaits you at this chamber music concert with Magdalena Heinz (violin), Susanne Szambelan (cello), and Juae Ha (piano). The program spans from late romantic warmth and Impressionist tone painting to expressive modernism.
The concert opens with Amy Beach's lyrical "Romance" for violin and piano, followed by César Franck's monumental Violin Sonata in A major—a masterpiece brimming with passion and harmonic sophistication. After the intermission, two short duos by Johann Sebastian Bach and Jörg Widmann will be performed, uniting Baroque clarity with contemporary exuberance.
The second half of the evening features two piano trios: Claude Debussy's rarely performed Trio in G major, which enchants with its Impressionist lightness, and Dmitri Shostakovich's expressive Trio in C minor, which touches the listener with its emotional depth and dramatic intensity.
