This fairy tale season, the Hexenberg Ensemble has added a new production, ‘The Ugly Duckling’, to its repertoire, which will be performed today in combination with ‘Cinderella’.

‘The Ugly Duckling’ by Hans Christian Andersen is a radical call to celebrate one's own uniqueness and find the courage to be oneself.
Directed by long-time ensemble member Michael Schwager, the Hexenberg Ensemble opens its 18th fairy tale season at the Glaspalast with this adaptation.

Cinderella
‘Always remain pious and always remain good. And I will always be with you.’Always. Always. Always. A promise of happiness given to a child by its mother that is not kept. Instead, the child discovers a world that simply does not correspond to its basic trust and sense of justice. And yet it does not allow its backbone to be broken and fights for its promise of happiness. Forever!
