Linocut & Embossing on Paper
In this workshop, participants work with linoleum blocks and explore linoleum as a medium for printing and embossing. After an introduction to linocut, they carve their own designs into the blocks and then transfer them by hand onto paper.
Printing and embossing are done without a press—using small spoons and other soft-edged tools, unique prints with a special tactile quality are created through manual pressure and embossing. The focus is on line, surface, and materiality, as well as on an experimental approach to printmaking and paper.
