concert double: The event series for young artists at Zimmer 16. Double concerts featuring refreshing, diverse, and sometimes surprising music and performance.
This time, “concert double” presents the following artists:
Berlin-based actress Jenny Kittmann invites audiences, with her original German-language chansons, to drift to dizzying heights with the lightness of a soap bubble—only to wade knee-deep through the mire of life and inevitable love the next moment. With fragments from her albums “Großstadtblues” and “Bargeflüster,” she balances between melancholy and lightness. She is accompanied by Tobias Ebert on piano.
MDR television describes the style of the multiple award-winning chanson singer-songwriter Môrre as a “striptease of the soul.” He presents euphoric original compositions from his second studio album “Königskinder.” With subtle, humorous anecdotes, he leads the audience into the world of The Little Prince. Môrre’s debut album “Du lachst so schön – Kinderlieder für Erwachsene” (“You Laugh So Beautifully – Children’s Songs for Adults”) is about the beauty of remaining a child while still growing up. With infectious lightness and playful melodies, he sings about the otherness of outsiders, thereby resisting the eternal melancholy of modern pop music.
