Originally from Japan, Shingo Masuda lives and works in Berlin as a qanun player, composer, and improviser. He performs a wide range of genres, from jazz and classical music to experimental music as well as music from the Middle East and the Mediterranean region. His compositions likewise combine different genres and styles. He also plays darbuka and frame drums, and since 2022 the Bulgarian flute kaval.
