Sacred choir music for Advent followed by punch and pastries at the fire bowl

Charity concert by the church and organ building association on the 2nd Advent with the vocal ensemble ACAPENSE in the Sacrow Church of the Redeemer in Potsdam. Afterwards there will be punch and pastries on the church square.

The Heilandskirche, Church of the Redeemer, as it is usually called, was built between 1842 and 1844 based on an idea and sketches by King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. Ludwig Persius, the "king's architect" and student of Schinkel, was commissioned to implement it.

Built in the Italian style and equipped with a free-standing campanile (bell tower), the building lies picturesquely on the banks of a Havel bay like a ship at the pier.

Nestled in the landscaped garden of the Sacrow Castle, which was designed by Peter Joseph Lenné, the church is a popular tourist destination.
